M13

This is a DSO picture taken with my planetary camera. I tested a just for fun implemented long exposure feature of my own coded capture software for this camera. The camera is not designed for DSO imaging, it has a very narrow field and it has no cooling feature at all. These things in mind I was really surprised by the resulting picture of M13.

Thanks to R Jay GaBani !!! Jay authorizes me to use the color channels from his wonderful M13 picture to colorize my b/w picture.

Sunspot 756

This is the First Light for my new planetary camera and my own coded capture software. The conditions during capturing this picture were quite bad. It was very windy and the seeing was bad.

Saturn

I am very happy about this picture. I captured the frames in the night of opposition. The seeing was very good, the best conditions I ever had. Visually I thought I looked through the Hubble space telescope – incredible!

M57

My lucky Jupiter shot from April this year fired me to be more serious in my planetary work. To be prepared for the next planet season I decided to evaluate some different planetary camera designs (modified webcams as well as professional cameras for industrial and scientific purpose). During my first evaluating session in Summer 2004 no planets where well placed in the sky. So I took some pictures from bright DSO’s. Here is an example of M57.

Moon

This mosaic picture is the result of a lazy astronomy summer night. I sit in my favorite arm chair in my garden, watched the moon, listened to the hedgehogs and enjoyed a bottle of the great 1996 Rioja Finca Valpiedra.
